New York Pizza Den and Chamber partner to help local chef and restaurant

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN – December 14, 2023 – New York Pizza Den (NYPD) in collaboration with the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce is leading efforts to ensure a local restaurant stays afloat as its owner battles health issues.    

Chef Stacks, local chef and owner of Talayah’s Southern Grill, encountered a health setback months ago due to surgery, leading to subsequent heart failure and ongoing life-threatening challenges.

As the restaurant’s owner, and primary provider for his family, Chef Stacks faces a challenging road to recovery, necessitating an extended absence from Talayah’s Southern Grill.

New York Pizza Den is stepping up to help by donating all proceeds of pizza sales to Chef Stacks and his family on December 18 to provide much needed financial relief at a difficult time.

“This collaborative effort with Chamber of Commerce Saskatoon, led by CEO Jason Aebig, underscores our commitment to supporting our business community's members in their time of need," says Ali Latif, manager for New York Pizza Den.

How You Can Help:

• Buy a Slice: visit anytime between 11AM-4Pm on December 18 at New York Pizza Den, 536 2nd Avenue N (corner of Queen Street and 2^nd Avenue) 

• Make a Donation: Any contribution, big or small, will significantly impact the well-being of Chef Stacks and his family. A GoFundMe has been created to accept donations for Talayah's Southern Grill.

• Spread the Word: Share the story of Chef Stacks and the "Slices for Chef Stackz" fundraiser across social media platforms, encouraging friends, family, and colleagues to help.
