Today, City Administration came to speak to the Chamber’s Advocacy Committee on their commitment to efficiency and approach to value for money audits moving forward. The Chamber is very pleased to see the City allocating time and resources to enhancing the capacity of the Independent City Auditor and focussing on running an organization that is both efficient and effective. 
 
With continuous improvement as the goal, an expanded auditor function within the city would help determine whether programs and services are achieving results, delivering efficiently or worthy of continued investment. It would equip Councillors with critical information to invest and allocate resources more effectively, actively promote continuous improvement within civic administration, and shore up ratepayer confidence in the stewardship of their tax dollars. 
 
We appreciate the efforts the City has taken to improve transparency and boost productivity.
