City of Saskatoon: 2026 Property Assessment Roll Now Open
January 8, 2026
SaskPower has filed a rate application proposing two electricity rate increases of 3.9% effective February 1, 2026, and February 1, 2027.
SaskPower has indicated that the 2026 increase would be implemented on an interim basis, meaning it would take effect before the conclusion of the public rate review process and remain subject to adjustment following that review.
The application is currently under consideration through Saskatchewan’s public utility rate review process, which allows businesses and other stakeholders to review the filing, submit written feedback, and participate in hearings before a review panel. This process is intended to assess the justification for proposed rate changes, including cost assumptions, affordability, and economic impacts.
The Saskatoon Chamber is seeking member input to understand the potential impacts of the proposed increases, perspectives on the application itself, and views on the clarity and effectiveness of the review process.
