Budget Delivers for Small and Midsize Businesses Amid Tariff Concerns

The Saskatoon Chamber, alongside our task force of industry experts, recently had the opportunity to meet with Minister Kaeding joined by Minister Cheveldayoff to discuss the proposal for a Saskatchewan Fund of Funds. This innovative model aims to significantly enhance access to investment capital for high-growth businesses in Saskatchewan, particularly within the technology and innovation sectors. The Fund of Funds is crucial for ensuring that businesses in these industries remain competitive and have the opportunity to scale within the province, rather than relocating to regions with more favorable investment environments.
By combining both public and private investment, the Fund of Funds would create a self-sustaining model that supports the growth of Saskatchewan-based enterprises across various sectors, all while minimizing the burden on taxpayers. We believe this initiative holds the potential to provide long-term economic benefits for our province.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the Ministers and officials for their time and thoughtful discussion. We are eager to explore the proposal further and look forward to continuing this important conversation.
