It wouldn’t be a new year without a few resolutions to get healthier heading into 2026. That list starts growing a few minutes after midnight when the prospect of a new year – and better you – sets in.
Experts say New Year’s resolutions last less than four months with 80% of people giving up by the beginning of February.
Some think it’s a willpower problem. Most just need a coach and a concrete plan.
“That’s where your Chambers Plan already has you covered,” explains Jewelian Berry at Wiegers Financial & Benefits in Saskatoon. “Built into each Chambers Plan are some the industry’s best resources to support the physical and mental health of your team as well as extra features tailormade for you. It’s why over 32,000 small and midsize business owners across Canada trust the well-being of their people to Chambers Plan.”
Teladoc Health Weight Management Program, included in all Chambers Plan members at no additional cost, provides access to certified health coaches who offer guidance on nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change rolled into a 25-week course with expert coaching and tips on healthy eating, exercise, sleep, and stress management.
To combat burnout, and take care of the muscle between your ears, Teladoc has introduced myStrength – a self-guided online program designed to support your mental well-being, from addressing stress and anxiety to sleep and emotional balance.
A majority of Canadian employees (70%) say their productivity has declined due to worsening mental health, according to a new report by Telus Health. Burnout is widespread, with 59% reporting they feel somewhat or extremely burnt out. Nearly a third (29%) say their mental health is directly affecting their productivity, while 32% report struggling to stay motivated. High workloads and financial concerns remain the leading causes of stress, cited by 30% of employees.
“When you think about the compounding effects of this burn out and stress on productivity, it should concern every business owner,” observes Collin Willms with Aurora Workplace Solutions in Saskatoon. “Advice and support on stress management, anxiety, depression, and heathy sleep is already built into Chambers Plan so it’s a good time of year for Chambers Plan members to remind their employees that these resources are available, confidential and free to access.”
For those members with Extended Health Benefits, Teladoc’s Mental Health Navigator is confidential, virtual service to help you with experts who can clarify a diagnosis or treatment plan, recommend types of care and provide ongoing guidance from mental health professionals.
“A new year is an opportunity to get fit and feel better,” suggests Willms. “Take advantage of this time, and your Plan, to set yourself up for success through 2026 and beyond.”
