The Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2022 SABEX Award Finalists in all categories and the induction of Sherwood and Elaine Sharfe into Saskatoon’s Business Hall of Fame.

Yesterday the City’s Standing Committee on Finance discussed current procurement practices and their commitment to the ongoing improvement and modernization of supply chain practices and policies.

Developing and re-envisioning Downtown Saskatoon has been identified as a priority area in the City’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan. A Downtown Event & Entertainment District will create a place for people and businesses to come together for the economic, cultural and social success of the city and surrounding area.

Small and medium size businesses could benefit the most from proposed changes to Saskatchewan’s property tax model based on an expert study commissioned by the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities (SUMA) that outlines how the model could be made more simple, fair and transparent.

Last week the Chamber together with Downtown Saskatoon hosted a roundtable session with the Minister of Social Services, Gene Makowsky and the Minister of Health, Paul Merriman to discuss the complex housing issues and subsequent criminal activities effecting businesses downtown.
