A DIGITAL STAMP (or digital seal) is a cryptographic electronic signature used by an authorized issuing authority (The Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce)
A WET STAMP is a physical, ink-based stamp applied directly to the document by an authorized issuing authority (The Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce)
Certificates of Origin are often requested by customs agencies, importers, freight forwarders and/or banks for clearance of letters of credit.
Chambers around the world issue Certificates of Origin as many countries view chambers of commerce as credible and accountable with working knowledge of their local markets. For these countries, an official Chamber stamp or seal is key to authenticating the origin of the goods being exported.
All those requiring a Certificate of Origin are asked to sign a Letter of Waiver (provided by the Chamber and held on file) and provide proof of business registration in Canada with the federal or provincial/territorial government.
