May 22, 2024The Chamber is very pleased to see that Canada’s Competition Bureau will begin a market study specifically focused on the state of competition within Canada’s airline sector. The review will include a look at policies and regulations that concern both domestic air passengers as well as the workers and entrepreneurs who enable these services.
Under new powers that the Competition Bureau gained in December the organization now how’s the ability to compel information from companies, which will led to a more comprehensive and detailed assessment of the industry.
This is a good news story for Canada’s airports following numerous concerns raised regarding the state of competition within the sector. Ensuring fair and competitive market conditions will benefit us locally and help Saskatoon’s Airport Authority continue with their efforts to keep Saskatoon on the map.
