The City of Saskatoon has released the conceptual design of the future Downtown Entertainment District, the scope of which includes the District core, event centre/arena, convention centre, theatre, and the streets and public spaces that tie them all together. The arena's planned location encompasses the northern parking lot of Midtown Mall and adjacent properties.
 

The potential economic impact of the District cannot be overstated. In an independent study released by the Saskatoon Chamber and Downtown Saskatoon, the proposed District could deliver a $1.37 billion boost to the city’s economy in job creation, local spending, talent retention and a reduction of urban sprawl.
