Shercom removes the environmental hazard of scrap tires, reduces our carbon footprint, processes scrap tires into a form that poses no danger to the environment, and researches new technologies for tire recycling, as well as processes and products to expand recycled rubber use.
2012 Award Winner: Confederation Inn
The Confederation Inn has implemented various initiatives in their effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These initiatives include solar panels, low flush toilets, low flow shower heads, and a comprehensive recycling program.

VerEco Homes demonstrates a commitment to building and living green. As a business focused on net zero homes, a demonstration home was exhibited at the Western Development Museum in 2010, which produced as much energy as it used on an annual basis. Ronn Lepage, owner of VerEco, built the home to demonstrate to the people of Saskatchewan that a smart, green home can be built at a reasonable cost.
